Cada árbol y cada planta del prado
parece estar danzando;

Angelina Jolie has told how she used to self-harm because she felt 'caged'.

The Oscar-winning actress said she was always seeking new thrills - forcing her into more and more extreme behaviour.

But she claims she has changed as she focuses on her new role as a mother.

She said: 'I used to cut myself or jump out of airplanes, trying to find something new to push up against because sometimes everything else felt too easy.

'I was searching for something deeper, something more. I tried everything. I always felt caged, closed in, like I was punching at things that weren't there. I always had too much energy for the room I was in.

'I went through a period when I felt my film characters were having more fun than I was.

'It might partly explain why I ended up tattooed or doing certain extreme things in my life.'

Pointing out bodywork on her arm - one of her 13 tattoos - she added: 'The wild heart caged. I unlocked my cage years ago. I want my children to have that freedom. I want that for other people, too.'

A tattoo on her left arm reads: 'A prayer for the wild at heart, kept in cages.'

In a candid interview with America's Parade magazine - to be published in full on Sunday - the 35-year-old star also talks at length of her love for partner Brad Pitt, 46, whom she says loves her for all her 'oddities'.

And she said that while the couple's six children - adopted Maddox eight, Pax, six, and Zahara, five; and biological kids, Shiloh, four, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 23-months-old - help cement their partnership, there needs to be more than that to make it last.
